Children’s Mercy Kansas City is launching new programs to treat youth with medical/psychiatric or complex neurobehavioral treatment needs, including a partial hospitalization program and a medical/surgical inpatient unit. The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Health is recruiting a clinical psychologist to provide clinical services and supervision of behavior analysts in these interdisciplinary programs that include clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, BCBAs, pediatricians, licensed clinical social workers, nurses, dieticians, child life specialists, and teachers, as well as support staff, including a care coordinator/discharge planner.

We are recruiting a psychologist who has training and/or experience with youth who have both medical and psychiatric presenting concerns, and/or neurodevelopmental/genetic disorders. Experience conducting diagnostic assessments, functional behavior assessments, and implementing behavior plans is desired.  Experience supervising BCBAs and direct-care staff (e.g., behavioral health techs) and providing training for caregivers is preferred.

This position will include teaching in the hospital’s pediatric medical and psychology training programs.  It will also include protected academic time for service, research, and other scholarly activities.  Faculty mentoring is available for those interested in clinical scholarship (e.g., program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives).  This position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience.

Applicants must have:

• A PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology, pediatric psychology, clinical child psychology, or related field
• Completion of an APA-accredited internship with clinical child and adolescent psychology as a major area of study
• BCBA Certification or relevant experience
• Eligibility for clinical psychology licensure in Missouri and Kansas
