Overview

Children’s Mercy is expanding our consultation/liaison (C/L) team.  We are excited to recruit new faculty positions to Children’s Mercy Wichita provide inpatient psychiatry consultation.

 

 

Children’s Mercy has a thriving interdisciplinary C/L service including psychology, psychiatry, and master’s and doctoral level BCBAs.  We are excited that our hospital has invested in expansion of inpatient behavioral health services, including a dedicated med/surg unit.  Our child psychiatry team includes ten child and adolescent psychiatrists and two psychiatric nurse practitioners serving inpatient and ambulatory specialties.

 

Children’s Mercy Wichita is a regional center of Children’s Mercy Kansas City and offers a child-friendly environment to provide Wichita area families with world-class pediatric care. Our dedicated space, located near the campus of Wesley Medical Center, offers permanent and outreach pediatric subspecialty clinics and telemedicine services. These services are part of our commitment to provide all area families with high quality pediatric care. We are dedicated to enhancing existing pediatric services by employing pediatric subspecialists who live and work in Wichita, complemented by outreach clinics provided by pediatric subspecialists and staff from Children’s Mercy Kansas City. The central Kansas location brings pediatric subspecialty care closer to patients and their families residing in remote areas of Kansas. 

 

 

These positions include protected academic time for service, research, and other scholarly activities.  Faculty mentoring and hospital-wide educational programs are available for those interested in clinical scholarship (e.g., program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives).  Our psychiatrists are an integral part of our training program and routinely teach students, residents and fellows.  This position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience. We are recruiting at all levels of rank and experience.

 

  • MD/DO required, as well as completion of an accredited psychiatry residency

  • Other Medical Degree (MD) and Residency/Fellowship
  • CMH Hospital Priveleges Required
  • State Medical License Required
  • BNDD and DEA Certificates Required
  • BE/BC Required
