Overview

The Department of Radiology at Children’s Mercy Kansas City seeks a leadership-minded? diagnostic pediatric radiologist to serve as Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging at our affiliated site of Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St Louis.

 

The Children’s Mercy Radiology department is comprised of 27 radiologists with subspecialty expertise in all areas of pediatric imaging. This position will be hired through and employed by Children’s Mercy and primarily provide service to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital located in the St. Louis metropolitan area.  This location has 2 full-time on-site radiologists, 2 hybrid radiologists who provide support and additional remote and onsite support as needed from the remainder of the CMH Radiology group.

 

ABOUT THE POSITION:

  • 100% pediatric radiology at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital
  • Medical Director of Cardinal Glennon Radiology and active part of Children’s Mercy leadership team as Vice Chair (with protected administrative time)
  • Collegial, private practice style work environment with autonomous management of pediatric imaging
  • Opportunity to perform the full breadth of diagnostic pediatric imaging including pediatric MSK, neuro and fetal MRI with ample backup and consultations from subspecialized diagnostic radiologists across the Children’s Mercy practice.
  • Full support and integration with the Children’s Mercy subspecialty pediatric radiologists
  • Academic appointment at University of Missouri Kansas City and adjunct faculty appointment at Saint Louis University
  • Radiology Residents from SLU rotate through Pediatric Radiology service at Cardinal Glennon and provide preliminary reads overnight and on weekends
  • Children’s Mercy in Kansas City has 24/7 attending coverage and will provide support for questions from residents, technologists and clinicians after hours.
  • At home weekend call with resident providing preliminary reads after noon

Successful candidates will have completed a pediatric radiology fellowship and be CAQ-certified or eligible in Pediatric Radiology and will have a strong interest in leadership. The position entails clinical practice within all aspects of pediatric imaging, excluding nuclear medicine, cardiac imaging and interventional radiology. The Medical Director role includes participation in hospital leadership and multiple interdepartmental committees and regular clinical conferences. Teaching duties include radiology residents. Pediatric residents and medical students.  Research opportunities and support are available for interested candidates but not required.
