Overview

The Division of Allergy, Immunology, Pulmonary, and Sleep Medicine at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is seeking a physician who is board-certified/eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology to join the current faculty of 13 in the Section of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. The division has been built upon a foundation emphasizing multi-disciplinary team models for the care of children who have a wide variety of acute and chronic respiratory and sleep disorders. Our Primary mission is to provide comprehensive medical and psychosocial care to our patients and their families. A culture of academic achievement and scholarship is fostered within the Division and all faculty members are encouraged to pursue scholarly activities. The division is dedicated to educational excellence for patients and families, allied health care providers, and our community.

 

The section currently includes General Pulmonary Medicine, the Children’s Mercy Sleep Center, and an active Cystic Fibrosis Care Center. We are seeking a physician who can expand current programs and develop new programs if needed. The physician will also be engaged in general pulmonary medicine activity in ambulatory and inpatient settings.

Candidates should be board-certified/eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology or Pediatric Sleep Medicine, have established clinical skills, and interest in scholarly activity and a willingness to participate in education activities.  Interest in or experience with neuromuscular/restrictive lung diseases, interstitial lung disease, and/or telemedicine would be a plus. Academic appointment is with the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, where we are the primary pediatric teaching site for students, residents and fellows. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and credentials.

 

Children’s Mercy Wichita is a regional center of Children’s Mercy Kansas City and offers a child-friendly environment to provide Wichita area families with world-class pediatric care. Our dedicated space, located near the campus of Wesley Medical Center, offers permanent and outreach pediatric subspecialty clinics and telemedicine services. These services are part of our commitment to provide all area families with high quality pediatric care. We are dedicated to enhancing existing pediatric services by employing pediatric subspecialists who live and work in Wichita, complemented by outreach clinics provided by pediatric subspecialists and staff from Children’s Mercy Kansas City. The central Kansas location brings pediatric subspecialty care closer to patients and their families residing in remote areas of Kansas.

Qualifications

  • Other Medical Degree (MD) and Residency/Fellowship
  • CMH Hospital Priveleges Required
  • State Medical License Required
  • BNDD and DEA Certificates Required
  • BE/BC Required
